Dr Megan Smyth graduated from The Queen’s University of Belfast with a 1st Class MSci (Hons) in Chemistry in 2012 before returning to gain a Ph.D. in 2016. In 2022 Megan completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA with distinction) at the University of Aberdeen. Megan is currently Team Leader within the Technology Group at Almac Sciences and has been with the company for seven years.

Megan has been responsible for the implementation of new enabling flow technologies at Almac Sciences, additionally leading multiple academic collaborations. Megan also leads multiple custom synthesis projects developing processes from gram to tonne manufacture and is responsible for technology transfer and process scale-up with additional experience in bioprocessing. Megan was recently awarded a prestigious £1.5 M Future Leader’s Fellowship from UKRI to develop continuous flow oxidations.
